A 10-week full refurbishment of one of Waitrose’s Central London stores, delivered during a full store shutdown. The sales floor was stripped back to shell before works began. The location and access made logistics the main challenge.
No parking, no external loading bay and only a small internal turntable for deliveries. All materials and waste were moved to tight time slots under strict controls.
Rear access was shared with other commercial units and the surrounding area is residential, so we used wait-and-load deliveries, no night working and close management to avoid disruption.
Services had to pass through a landlord-owned basement car park in daily use. We held weekly coordination meetings to keep access open and avoid damage or delay.
The first Waitrose store to have a full CO₂ refrigeration system.
The store was refitted to Waitrose’s latest specification across the whole shop floor.
The store was handed over on time to Waitrose’s specification, despite the access and logistics constraints, and reopened to customers as planned.
