Project Overview:

SB Construction completed the refurbishment of Waitrose Chiswick over a 7-week shutdown period. The works involved a full strip-out of the existing sales floor, taking it back to shell before rebuilding to current Waitrose standards, alongside upgrades to staff (Partner) areas.

Project Highlights:

1. Strip-Out & Refit: Removal of existing ceilings and tiled flooring, followed by installation of a new porcelain tiled floor, ceilings, lighting, signage and fixtures.
2. M&E & Refrigeration: Full replacement of M&E services, including a new refrigeration system designed to be more efficient and environmentally friendly.
3. Partner Area Works: Refurbishment and refresh of Partner areas, including asbestos flooring removal carried out safely and in line with regulations.
4. Specialist Works: Installation of vacuum drainage and a new air door system as part of the overall upgrade.
5. Logistics: The refrigeration install required two crane lifts, road closures, council permits and out-of-hours working to complete safely.
6. Programme: All works delivered within a tight 7-week programme, with careful coordination across trades.

Conclusion:

The store was handed over on programme with a high-quality finish throughout. The result is a modern, efficient retail space that meets current Waitrose standards and improves the overall customer experience.
