Project Overview:

Located just off the main road into historic Harrogate, this project involved the full refurbishment of a four-storey office building within a busy retail park. Delivered over a concentrated 13-week period, the scheme required careful planning and coordination to manage complex logistics and operational challenges due to the building’s position alongside active businesses and remote storage constraints.

Project Highlights:

• Structural and Enabling Works: Extensive structural modifications were required, including temporary propping and lead lining of structural floors to accommodate specialist clinical equipment.
• Specialist Installations: The scheme included the integration of a CT scanner, X-ray and dental equipment, and the fit-out of theatre spaces to create fully functioning surgical and diagnostic areas.
• Full M&E Installation: A comprehensive mechanical and electrical package was delivered to support the technical requirements of the facility, ensuring all systems were compliant, efficient, and tailored to a 24-hour veterinary operation.
• Live Environment Logistics: Operating within a busy commercial area presented logistical complexities, requiring precise coordination to minimise disruption to neighbouring businesses and ensure safe, efficient delivery.

Conclusion:

Over the course of just 13 weeks, SB Construction transformed a vacant office building into a fully operational, 24-hour veterinary hospital. The completed facility now serves the Harrogate community and surrounding areas, showcasing our ability to deliver technically complex healthcare environments to the highest standards, within challenging timeframes and locations.
