An 18-week project on London’s Southbank, converting an adjoining shell unit to extend an existing comedy club. The club stayed open throughout.
Each stage was phased so the club could keep trading without disruption to customers.
The site is on one of London’s busiest pedestrian routes. External works were managed to keep the public safe.
Deliveries were booked 48 hours ahead through a shared loading bay, and each one was marshalled to and from site.
A new internal plant deck and structural steelwork formed a fire-rated mezzanine plant room. Temporary works strengthened the existing structure for the extra steel loads.
The plant deck and steelwork were left exposed as part of the architect’s industrial design.
Completed without disruption to the neighbouring venue, giving the club a larger space to the client’s brief.
